Begin to set the chronograph when you go past the starting point, and stop when you travel the distance you are measuring. The second hand will lead to a tachymeter scale: that’s your average speed. If you measure your time more than one mile, the size of the speed is calculated in mph; the same thing applies to kilometers. In the meantime, don’t forget to take a look at the best seiko watches on your nearby store.
If you have measured your speed even further, there are a number of things to remember. If it’s going to be more than a whole minute, your chronograph may not give a number to work – only a several tachymeters with a scale that multiplies the last round of 60. So your choice must be running fast enough, or measuring accelerating shorter distances instead.
For example: measuring your speed above 100 m; if it requires a 10-second sprinter, your chronograph’s second hand will go to 450. But it doesn’t run at 450km / h – you need to divide it by 10 (1km to 10x100m). Simply travel at an average speed of 45 km/hour.
